Comparison Endangers Your Happiness and Self-Esteem

Haven't we let go of our habit of comparing ourselves to other people? This unhealthy attitude of ours is within our system and we had utilized this for years to steer the world. When comparison hits us, the danger of feeling less than sets in. For instance, when others succeed, we feel desperate or in despair. Why? Our mind has been conditioned that we could never be like them no matter what we do. 

Comparing yourself to others endangers self-esteem.

The psychological effects of self-comparison enthuse crumbling of our confidence and it harms our creative ability to become happy. It also gives a harmful effect on our children and self-esteem. According to the book, Emotional Freedom by Judith Orloff, 

"Comparing yourself to others can preclude a bond of common fellowship and is a barrier to finding true worth.”

 Comparing yourself to other people is SELF-DESTRUCTION.

These tips on how to combat comparison take a lot of constant practice to regain your self-worth and boost your self-esteem again with a resonating degree of success, that would become influential to your future endeavors.

  1.  Be mindful of this feeling. This the initial step towards getting rid of it gradually.
  2. Modify your viewpoints to realistic ones. The success of others can be emulated in many ways. Always remember that we all have our own happiness and struggles.
  3. Be thankful of your blessings. Write a list of the things that made or will make you truly happy.


Happiness is who you are and what you have.

4. Develop the habit of giving to others what you most desire for yourself. Helping others is an excellent way to enhance self-esteem and avoid the deadly effects of mental traps.
5.  Redirect, affirm and build.- When you are being haunted by negative comparisons, redirect your thoughts to positive traits and let these good vibes be transcended to your loved ones, yourself and the kids.

We are all created EQUAL  and SPECIAL.

6. It is a TOP PRIORITY to focus MORE ON YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. Find a reason to joyfully celebrate your positives and never your negative side. Be proud of your God-given endowments.

Self-comparison is tantamount to immaturity. Live in accordance to your unique ideas. To be who you are, is next to contentment and success.
